Bultfontein: Police have arrested two murder suspects on separate incidents that occurred during the last weekend.
The first incident happened on Saturday the 23 November 2019, when the police received a complaint about a shooting at one of the taverns at Phahameng location, Bultfontein. A 29 year old victim went to a tavern with his friend and upon their arrival at the gate, the security requested to search them but they refused to be searched.
The security called the tavern owner, Mr Moalahi Shuping (42) to the gate. An argument erupted when the duo refused to be searched. Then, the tavern owner drew his firearm and shot the victim once on his head.
The victim died on the scene and was later identified. The suspect, Mr Shuping, was arrested and charged with murder and his firearm was also confiscated by the police. He appeared in the Bultfontein Magistrate Court on the 27 November 2019 and case was postponed to the 2 December 2019 for bail application.
In another separate incident on the 24 November 2019 at De Meadows Farm, Police in Bultfontein responded to a complaint of murder and rushed to the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that Mr Bongani Ncobo had quarrel with Mr Khayalethu Saalman (42). It is alleged that Mr Bongani Ncobo (29) had been accusing Mr Saalman of killing his wife.
Mr Ncobo stabbed Mr Saalman once on his right shoulder with a sharp object. Then Mr Saalman pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Mr Ncobo six times all over his body and left.
