Welkom: Thabong Cluster stations comprising Thabong, Bronville, Virginia, Meloding, Theunissen, Winburg, Hennenman and Ventersburg, held initiatives to fight crime and their hard work did not go into vain.
It yielded good results as they arrested people who did not abide by the law during the festive season.
From the 01 December to 31 December 2019, 1300 people were arrested for serious crimes like Assault GBH, Assault Common, murders, Domestic Violence related cases, Attempted murder, Kidnappings, Contravention of Protection Orders, Robbery with a firearm, Common robberies, House robberies, House breakings at houses and business premises, Business robberies, Shopliftings, Culpable homicide, Offences under the drugs trafficking Act, Offences under the dangerous weapons Act, Illegal dealing or Possession of gold bearing soil, Possession of presumed stolen property, Driving under the influence of alcohol, Offences in terms of the firearm Act, Illegal Immigrants, Theft of motor vehicle, Bribery, Offences in terms of the Road Traffic Act and Offences in terms of the Liquor Act.
Confiscations were as follows: 292,270 kg of Gold bearing soil, 962,485 litres of liquor, 5 firearms and 440 live ammunition.
