Thabong: Thabong Primary School reported business robbery to the police that happened in the early hours of Thursday, 17 January 2019. It is alleged that seven males wearing balaclavas, armed with pistols and a rifle, broke into the school and captured two security guards.
The two guards aged 23 and 44 were locked in one of the classrooms and their hands tied up with cable wire. The seven suspects gained entry into the principal’s office and made their way into one of the offices where the safe was kept. They allegedly grind open the safe and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, twenty four tablet cellphones, a laptop and four computers.
The suspects then proceeded to the school tuck shop where they stole two deep fryers and groceries to the value of R12 000.00. The cellphones of the two security guards were also stolen. The two security guards allegedly managed to untie themselves and ask for assistance from the tenant who is occupying the caretaker’s house.
Thabong police were called to the scene and a case of business robbery was opened for further investigation.
