Lesotho: Condolences are pouring in from across South Africa and Lesotho following the passing of legendary musician Tsepo Tshola.

The Village Pope, as he was affectionately known, rose to prominence with popular group Sankomota in the 1980s. His illustrious career in the music industry spanned just over four decades.

Tshepo Tshola was the Lesotho-born South African legendary singer and songwriter best known for songs such as Ho lokile and Shine Your Light amongst many others.Tshepo Tshola was born in 1954 at Teyateyaneng; Lesotho.

Tshepo Tshola has been in the industry for more than 45 years, ever since he joined teen boy band The Lesotho Blue Diamonds as a vocalist in 1970. He then join the group called The Anti-Antics and later Uhuru and Sankomota.

Tshepo Tshola died from COVID-19 complications on 15 July 2021 in his home country; Lesotho. He was 67 years old.
