There is a purpose for everything in life.

When something happens to us in life, we may wonder if there is a deeper reason behind it. Most of us may have felt at times that something happened according to God’s good and gracious plans.

God is sovereign and in control of all things. What God orchestrates and allows is meaningful, significant, and purposeful. Though everything may not happen for a reason, what we find in the Bible is that God will redeem us, restore us, help us, and cause a good outcome for those of us who love him and follow Him.

The Bible in Ecclesiastes 3 reads: To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up;

A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing.

When someone walks out of your life and you do not understand, it is easy to get discouraged. But when you meet the divine connection He has for you, somebody better than you ever dreamed, you will look back and say it was part of His purpose.

What about the supervisor who tried to keep you down all those years? You did not realize it at the time, but staying in that workplace with a good attitude, giving your best, and doing the right thing when the wrong thing was happening was developing your character, strengthening your spiritual muscles, and getting you prepared for the next level.

You would not be who you are without that difficulty. You did not like it at the time, but you look back now and say that was good.

To everything there is a season emphasizes that all emotions and actions, both negative and positive, have important meaning and people should experience them all throughout life. The LORD has made everything for his own purposes…(Proverbs 16:4, NLT).

God’s ways are better than our ways. He sees things we can not see. He always has a purpose in what He is doing. Trust Him. If you keep honouring Him, it is just a matter of time before God brings it all together.
