Bethlehem: Two males aged between 34 and 33 were arrested after police found an unlicensed
firearm, ammunition and drugs in their possession.

Bohlokong Cluster Tactical Response Team responded to an information to a Tuck shop in Bohlokong location on Thursday; 14 May 2020.

On arrival, they found two males waiting outside and they were escorted to their sleeping rooms.
Both rooms were searched and a 9mm caliber firearm with live ammunition was found hidden, as well as drugs worth an estimated street value of more than R50 000, were seized.

Both suspects will appear in the Bethlehem Magistrate court soon for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as dealing in drugs.

In another incident…

Bloemspruit: Members from Bloemspruit Police Station working together with Bloemfontein Public Order Policing unit, were on a blue light patrol in the station’s rural area on Friday; 15 May 2020.

They came across a white suspicious Toyota Corolla. Members tried to stop the vehicle but the driver sped away and a chase ensued. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it ended up in the ditch.

Officers approached the vehicle and discovered that the 39 year old driver was badly injured. Emergency personnel were called to the scene and was declared dead at the scene. While searching the vehicle, members found 12 x 25kg bags full of dagga in the vehicle.

A case of culpable homicide was opened for further investigation and the dagga was seized.
