Bethlehem: The Police are looking for community assistance with regard to two incidents where two people died separately in Phuthaditjhaba and Ficksburg, but no suspects arrested yet.

In the first incident; Bethlehem police were called to a hospital on the 03rd December 2021, after a 34-year-old man was admitted from Baipehing section; Meqheleng; Ficksburg, with open wounds on the head, swollen eyes, bruises and both legs broken with unknown object. He succumbed to the wounds on 05 December 2021. A case of murder is being investigated.

In the second incident; on the 04th December 2021, Phuthaditjhaba police were called to another hospital where a 30-year-old man was admitted with a fatal gunshot wound on the chest. It is alleged that he was brought by a friend who said that the deceased was shot near Phuthaditjhaba Community Hall.

It is further alleged that the two were walking at the area when an unknown man carrying a firearm shot randomly at them. The deceased was hit by a bullet and fell on the ground. A case of murder is being investigated.

The South African Police Services(SAPS) urge the members of the community to assist with information that may lead to the arrests and conviction of the suspects in both Ficksburg and Phuthaditjhaba murder cases.
