Bloemfontein: Manhunt has been launched by Parkweg police for Rodney Dudley Rippon (31). The suspect is allegedly involved in a string of fraud cases with the possibility of adding similar cases under his name.

A Warrant of arrest has been issued by the Bloemfontein Magistrate court on the 03 March 2021, after several attempts of finding Rippon failed. The suspect has allegedly committed fraud in Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth and East London.

His modus operandi includes booking into the guesthouse and leaving without paying. In one of the guesthouses, he left with a visitor’s laptop which had his personal information including banking details.

He then used it to apply for a loan amounting to R50 000 at one of the financial institutions with several unsuccessful attempts of taking cellphone contracts. Rippon also took a client’s car that he was supposed to fix and sold it without the owner’s consent.

He would also advertise building Wendy houses, then take deposits from clients and vanish without honouring his promises. He was last seen in Bloemfontein and Eastern Cape but he is believed to be somewhere in the areas of Port Elizabeth, East London and Bloemfontein.
