Odendaalsrus: Three suspects aged 23, 26 and 41 years, will appear soon at Odendaalsrus Magistrates court following their arrest by the members of Welkom Anti-Gang Unit for allegedly dealing in drugs after a tip-off by the residents of Kutlwanong.

On Monday; 16 December 2019, members of Welkom AGU were busy with their crime prevention duties when they received information regarding the drug dealers in Kutloanong; Odendaalsrus, which led to the arrest of three African male from different addresses.

The 23 year old suspect was found with 12 packets of nyaope with a street value of R600.00 in his possession and a cash amount of R1094.20 at K9 section, Kutloanong.

The second suspect (26) was found at the same address in a shack where he was found in possession of 6 pokes of dagga and a match box full of nyaope powder.

The AGU members then proceeded to a house in Block 5; Kutloanong and upon arrival, a 41 year old suspect threw a blue plastic bag outside his yard but the members rushed and managed to get it. They found 4 full, 2 halves and 19 quarters of Mandrax tablets with 150 pokes of dagga amounting to R3 925.00 in total and the suspect was arrested.

All drugs and dagga were seized by the Anti-Gang Unit members and all three suspects were detained at Welkom Police Station.

In a separate incident: On Monday; 16 December 2019, members of Welkom Public Order Police were busy with Crime prevention duties when they noticed a suspicious metallic red mini Cooper with Gauteng Province registration, at Nathaniel Road, Riebeeckstad, Welkom.

The vehicle was stopped and searched and the members found 13 pokes, 1 litter dagga and 5 plastics of CAT drugs. The two suspects aged 33 and 44, both African males, were arrested immediately and were detained at Welkom Police Station. The vehicle and the drugs were confiscated and stored at the Police Station.
