Thabong: Five suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and business burglary. On Wednesday, 14 November 2017, members of the Welkom SAPS Reaction Team received information about a business burglary at one of the mortuaries in Thabong.
Members followed up the information which led to the arrest of a 37 year-old man, who was found in possession of suspected stolen property. The team continued with the investigation and again arrested a 47 year-old man for burglary business and possession of suspected stolen property.
Preliminary investigations by the Welkom Reaction Team, further indicated that some of the suspected stolen property were already sold by the two suspects. Two men aged 44 and 47 and a 52 year old woman who purchased the stolen property were also apprehended. All five suspects will appear at the Welkom Magistrate Court soon.
All the items seized during the arrests were positively identified by the owner of the mortuary. “The Welkom Reaction Team has yet done us proud by apprehending the suspects. We applaud them for their good work.” said the provincial Commissioner, Lt General Lebeoana Tsumane.
