When Offenses Come!!!!!!
It is probably happened to all of us at some time or another. Someone offended us by what they said or did. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, an offense is “something which outrages the senses.”
Those who are offended are sometimes described as “hurt, wounded, upset, insulted, disappointed, irritated, angry” and so forth.
Offenses and betrayals will come; loss, bad breaks, things we do not understand. It is painful enough when it happens, but if you make the mistake of going around feeding the hurt, feeding the offense, you are giving life to bitterness, resentment and discouragement.
Do not feed the self-pity or what did not work out. Do not relive the hurts. You cannot feed your history and feed your destiny at the same time. What is happened to you is over and done. Quit thinking about how you were raised, what you did not get, who hurt you, who you lost.
That is history, that is behind you. You have to starve the doubts, starve the negative comments people have spoken over you, starve the guilt and condemnation.
You cannot go into a new season if you are always looking back at the old. Now do your part and keep feeding your faith, your hopes, your dreams, and you will step up to a new level and see those dreams come to pass.
Offenses may be hurled at us by others, or we may invent them from unintentional slights or misinterpreted actions of others. We can TAKE offense from others, or MAKE it by not taking those offenses to heart and not allowing them to bring you down.
