Bethlehem: Thami Victoria Mokoena; aged 30, made a brief appearance before the Magistrate in Bethlehem. Mokoena is accused of fatally wounding her partner on the evening of Saturday; 26 September 2020.
According to allegations both Mokoena and the deceased were having drinks on that day when an argument emerged between the two and they decided to go to their place.
According to the witness, he followed the couple and stopped them from fighting. After the witness left, both Mokoena and the deceased fought again. Mokoena allegedly threw the deceased with a side plate of the left eye and he bled profusely.
Police were called to the scene and the deceased was in a pool of blood. He was declared dead on the scene and the 35 year old man was identified.
Mokoena was arrested on the same Saturday for murder and appeared in court on Monday, she was released on warning and is expected to appear again in court on Friday; 30 October 2020.
Free State Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane says victims of domestic violence must report such incidents as soon as possible.
“Those who feel uncomfortable in their intimate relationships should seek help as soon as possible as toxic relationships often leads to unwanted deaths.” concluded Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane.
